Vampirism Power Addendum: Regeneration

Just a quick addition to the Vampirism power: a regeneration ability. It’s one of those classic vampire traits, especially in movies, and needs to be available to my players.

 

Regeneration [8/18/28/48/68]

You recover from nonlethal injury without feeding or hibernating. At level 1, you heal 2 HP each day on a successful HT roll. At level 2 or beyond, you no longer need to roll, and heal 2 HP each hour at level 2, each minute at level 3, and each second at level 4. At level 5, you heal 4 HP each second. (These rates assume HP 20-29; reduce by 50% for HP 19- or increase by 50% for HP 30+.) You cannot heal injury caused by burning damage, sunlight, or hits to the head, neck, or vitals, with this ability.

  • Unhealing: Add limitation Lethal injury only, -40% [8]

Level 2 [18]

  • As level 1, above, and:
  • Regeneration (Regular; Nonlethal injury only, -60%) [10]

Level 3 [28]

  • As level 1, above, and:
  • Regeneration (Fast; Nonlethal injury only, -60%) [20]

Level 4 [48]

  • As level 1, above, and:
  • Regeneration (Very Fast; Nonlethal injury only, -60%) [40]

Level 5 [68]

  • As level 1, above, and:
  • Regeneration (Very Fast; Reduced time 1, +20%; Nonlethal injury only, -60%) [60]

Design Notes

This one’s very straightforward. I decided to price lethal injury (everything vampires’ Unkillable doesn’t protect against) at -40% and nonlethal injury at a complementary -60%. With this ability, a vampire can recover from anything other than sunlight, fire, or hits to the head, neck, or vitals.
