RB0: Two More Robot PCs

Previously I introduced Remote Boot Zero, a Gurps convention game I’ll be running in June, and published three of the nine 400-point robot PCs. I was going to write here about the setting of the game, but I reconsidered: just in case I get a player who’s read this blog, I don’t want to give away any of the surprises. After all, the concept of the adventure hinges on the player characters having literally zero prior experience of anything, as they are robots being powered on for the first time.

Anyway, here’s two more of the pregen characters on offer, as promised. I’ll write the scenario up in some detail once I’ve run it.

Analyst (400 points)

analystThe analyst is a recently-fielded model designed to examine the atmosphere, terrain, and native life forms of colonial planets and determine their suitability for human habitation, mining, and farming. It has the highest-capacity computer brain of all fleet models, and is preprogrammed with many skills for exploration and analysis. It is also equipped with one normal and one superior chip slot for additional skills. It marks a departure from the fleet’s traditional design principles, in that it’s entirely soft-bodied, and moves by undulating like a snake. Its small size and flexibility allow it to squeeze through small openings and climb difficult surfaces effortlessly. From the front end of its body protrude three arms with small-scale manipulators, a broad array of sensors, and built-in tools and sample collection devices. Between them is an opening to a small payload cavity. Onboard, the analyst’s intelligence and fine motor control allow it to operate as a medical unit, and it is preprogrammed with the requisite skills.
